Small, but mighty, Cold Harbor Brewing Co in Westborough, MA is everything that I love finding for beer: twists on the everyday beers.
Cold Harbor’s beers are anything but ordinary, and that’s the best part. Secret Garden, gives a new unique twist to a Hefe. Chamomile is added to give it a more herbal taste, which is a great compliment to the traditional clove taste as well as the added honey. Definitely the most unique Hefe I’ve ever had. Farmer’s Friend, a Saison, is very true to it’s name as it has a hay after taste to pair with the honey taste. Indian Summer, a hazy, New England IPA, stayed true to the citrus taste of a juice bomb with mango and pineapple notes but added a little spice to it. I could drink this beer everyday.
Petals N’ Rinds, a Pale Ale hopped with Mosaic and Citra to give it a citrus taste, mixed with florals to create a perfect balance. Finally, my favorite had to be Ra-venna, a Session IPA. Like Petals N’ Rinds, it’s hopped with my two favorite hops: Mosaic and Citra giving it a strong citrus taste but a little hoppier than the Pale Ale.
The taproom itself is small but they just added an outside area to enjoy some sunshine and some cornhole.
I strongly recommend Cold Harbor Brewing Co if you’re looking for a break from the everyday beers, which I’m always looking for. I can’t wait to see what else this brewery comes up with next.
